It’s true that at Hobby Republik we love activities that help our mental health, which can be those that help us go crazy and have serious fun, as well as those activities that help calm the mind. This May there are still plenty of activities to choose – and whether you’re after madness or mindfulness, we’ve got you! Here goes 25 of the best…
Half Term Madness
This section is mainly for the kids in your household, although there is also a swimming crash course specifically for adults.

Art-K: May 25th – 29th Holiday Club
o Aastha is back with her legendary art classes, single morning or whole week, a super flexible holiday activity
Dolphin Swim School: May 25th-29th Swiming (Crash Course)
o The 5 day swimming crash course for kids
o and one for adults too
Edge FA: May 25th-29th Football Club
o Football for 5-12 yr olds. One day or every day – your choice
Trestle Arts Base: May 25th and 26th Half Term Dance Workshop
o Divya Kasturi leads this free dance and video workshop. Expect movement, storytelling, rhythm and a genuine encounter with a 2,000-year-old tradition that is very much alive. No experience necessary.

The Fragrant Dispensary with Balanced with Becs: 17th May The Scented Reset
o Jean’s aromatherapy workshops are great (see here). This collaboration is for women only and will help you to understand how your body reacts to stress and what you can do about it

Heart and Earth: May 17th and 31st Shinrin-Yoku (Forest Bathing)
o As prescribed by doctors in Japan. Take a guided walk in the woods, reflect and find calm
Jet Black Squares: May 17th Mobile Phone Camera Workshop
o The mobile phone camera workshop, join the Verulamium Park safari and take a fresh look at somewhere you thought you knew well
Life Is A Performance

The Pioneer Club: May 13th Under 18’s Open Mic
o Free entry, and a supportive crowd and a safe environment to get on stage and perform
Jigsaw Performing Arts: May 16th, 23rd and 30th New Classes
o New Saturday drama classes at Marlborough Science Academy
Tappy Toes: May 12th, 13th & 15th Superhero Week

Big School Shouldn’t Be Stressful

o A free opportunity to see how the railways used to be operated, and get a chance to have a go at signalling the (virtual) train into the station.
Celtic Harmony Camp: May 29th Celtic Warrior Day
o Learn vital skills such as archery and making fire via friction and drumming. What’s not to like.
