Overview
This collaborative course is for the competent photographer who wants to push their skills further. We work in groups to explore the new technologies in DSLR and Mirrorless system cameras. Learning to use Speedlight Flash effectively, on and off camera when photographing models in the studio or location. We explore HHS or FP; High Speed Sync features on Speedlight flashes We have a trip to some iconic London locations to use Neutral Density filters in the daytime to create stunning slow shutter landscape photography, and the following session is post-production in Adobe CC Lightroom on those images. We investigate playing with depth of filed and fast lenses to creating stunning Bokeh in images and use my specially designed Bokeh filters. session one* - *Intro to using Speedlight hot-shoe flash session two* - *High-speed flash. this will get messy!! session three* - *Creative studio portraits with models using off-camera Speedlight’s flash (and Strobes) session four - Exploring beautiful bokeh, bokeh filters session five - Saturday trip to London (4 hours, meet in London 9.am) using ND filters for daytime landscape photography session six - Adobe Lightroom post-production on London shots * you will need a Speedlight flash or Hot Shoe flash for three of the sessions, I recommend getting a hot-shoe flash that is the same brand as your camera The Saturday trip is weather dependent, so day or time may change This course is mainly practical learning so no tea-breaks on this course What you need You will need a portable laptop with Adobe CC Lightroom Classic A "fast” lens - a lens with a large aperture e.g.50mm F/1.8 *You will need a digital SLR or Mirrorless camera and a dedicated hot-shoe flash unit /Speedlight. This should be an integrated system Speedlight / External hot-shoe flash unit. It must use a wireless system to fire remotely from camera to the flash unit when the flash is not attached to the camera, for example, a Nikon D7000 DSLR camera with a SB-700 Nikon Speedlight. Canon’s (wireless flash system) and other brands will have similar dedicated hot-shoe flash systems. A sturdy tripod +10stop and a +4/6 stop ND filters. To book, just hit the Enquire Now button. I will need to have a conversation with you first to ensure you are at the right level and have the necessary equipment for the course! Speak soon.
