Who We Are
Jive Swing is the UK's friendliest swing dance club, running fun, friendly Lindy Hop swing dance classes and courses across Hertfordshire, Essex and North London. Alongside Lindy Hop, classes touch on Charleston, Balboa and Authentic Jazz, taught by instructors who focus on keeping things simple and breaking every move down into manageable bits. Beyond the dancing, Jive Swing is a warm social community, with monthly social dances, free refreshments and plenty of chances to make new friends.
Who is it for?
Complete beginners are genuinely welcome — no previous dance experience, no partner and no particular age or background required. Classes are aimed at adults who fancy trying a fun, sociable form of exercise, whether that's absolute newcomers to swing dancing or those wanting to progress from beginner to intermediate level. No dancer is ever left standing on the side lines.
Need to Know
No special clothing is required, just comfortable shoes to move in. Hitchin classes run as 4-week progressive courses with beginner and intermediate levels; Welwyn is a drop-in evening class and social with no need to book ahead — just turn up. Free refreshments are provided, and every session doubles as a chance to meet new people in a friendly, easy-going atmosphere.

Monday — Hitchin, 7–9.30pm
Tuesday — Letchworth 8pm, Tring 7–8pm, St Albans 8–10.15pm (doors 7.45pm)
Wednesday — Watford 7–9.30pm, Luton 7–8pm
Thursday — Welwyn 8–11pm (doors 7.45pm)
