This is a brand new workshop designed to be an introduction to the Japanese artform of Chigiri-e. In the 3 hour workshop, you will learn the basic techniques that will enable you to create a beautiful candle jar and bauble in the session. So what is Chigiri-e? Chigiri-e is a Japanese paper art a traditional Japanese collage art form where images are created by tearing and layering colored paper onto a background, rather than cutting. The name combines chigiri (to tear or shred) and e (picture). The resulting images often have a soft texture, resembling watercolor paintings, and can be either realistic or abstract.
