A joyful festive brush calligraphy workshop in St Albans with lettering artist Jen Roffe, held in collaboration with crafter and actress Kellie Bright at Meet Me at Mabel's on Wednesday 9th December, 7–9pm. In this 2 hour evening you'll learn the essentials of modern brush calligraphy, starting with beginner brush strokes and mark making, then practise upper and lowercase letterforms and festive words before creating your own hand-lettered Christmas card and gift tags, decorated with a playful twist using black and white ink pens. A specialist brush pen, stroke and alphabet guides, lettering templates, card and gift tags are all included to keep practising at home, along with light refreshments. No experience is needed, so it suits complete beginners – a perfect festive get-together with friends or a creative evening for yourself.
