Service Description

This four-morning course is designed to give you an introduction to the tools and techniques used in modern and traditional upholstery, but can also be used for project continuation and skill development Bring along a small piece of furniture and some top fabric - a drop-in / stuff-over seat or small footstool is ideal. All other materials, tools and equipment are provided. You are also very welcome to drop in a couple of weeks beforehand to look through our fabric books and order some top fabric in time for your course. Learn about: Ripping down and basic frame repairs Use of upholstery tools Building up shape and structure Traditional/modern techniques Cutting and handling of fabrics Health and Safety guidelines 'I thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt such a lot. Charlie has been a brilliant tutor, incredibly observant when people needed help and an outstanding upholsterer imparting a fraction of her knowledge and skill.' Maximum of 6 students in a class. If you get hooked, you can come back with more complex pieces, or progress to other courses! 4 mornings: 9.30am - 1pm Saturday Tea, coffee & cake provided, but bring your own lunch for all day sessions.
